Glock Taurus Price - This compact 9mm was one of the highlights of our 2022 gun test, see how it performed at the range.
The Taurus G3X is the pistol that impressed us in the 2022 Gun Test, and the price is even more impressive. Bill Buckley
Glock Taurus Price
If there was one handgun that exceeded expectations in our review of the best handguns of 2022, it was the Taurus G3X. We shot a full field of new full-size, compact, and micro-compact handguns, and when the dust settled, the G3X was the standout pistol for the entire test team.
Glock 19 Beaten? Meet The Powerful Taurus G3 Pistol
This compact 9mm is a simple, affordable handgun designed to compete with (and heavily influenced by) the Glock G19. It is a striker-fired, polymer-framed pistol that comes with two 15-round magazines. The Taurus G3X shares similarities with the G19 — which sets the standard for the category — but also has some key differences that set it apart. Also, the G3X comes at a great price.
The field of compact assault pistols is full of similar-looking guns that have similar features and can do many of the same things. It's a messy market and it's very difficult to distinguish individual rifles on their own. Differences are often made by combining small desirable features and price. The Taurus G3X scores well in both areas.
As for size, the barrel of the G3X is significantly shorter than most compact pistols. The 3.2-inch barrel is about an inch shorter than the Glock G19's 4.02-inch barrel, and most compact pistols have 3.8- to 4-inch barrels. Although the barrel length is closer to what you'd find in the microcompact category, the grip and frame are long enough to hold 15-round magazines—the same capacity as the G19. A slightly shorter barrel definitely makes a difference in carry comfort and maneuverability, especially in the appendix carry position.
Another notable feature of the Taurus G3x is that it has "retrigger capability," meaning if you get a light primer hit and the gun doesn't fire, you can pull the trigger again and it will fire. Primer again. Although this is not a commonly used feature, light primer strike may occasionally occur. I have had primers not fire on the first strike with most ammo because the primers were not fully seated in the case.
Taurus G2c 9mm Gun Review: A Big Surprise In A Small Package?
The G3X's trigger is good, and our sample broke at 5 pounds, 8 ounces -- 6 pounds under the published specs at half a pound. Fried pistols have a lot of travel before the trigger breaks, but it wasn't too bad. It has a trigger safety bar that must be pressed to fire the gun, and the trigger is clean and has a nice tactile reset.
The Taurus G3X has a nice trigger that can be pulled a second time to re-strike the primer if the cartridge doesn't fire. Bill Buckley
The Taurus G3X comes with two 15-round steel magazines, and several members of our test team commented that the quality of the magazines was better than they expected for the gun's price. Good magazines can be underestimated and ignored, but bad magazines can tarnish the performance and reputation of a great rifle. For example, another pistol in our test had a magazine with a follower that caused significant damage—and it's hard to ignore even in the best pistols.
Overall, the Taurus G3X is just a no-frills, clean, good-looking pistol. Even with a short barrel, it features a single-slit side rail at the front of the frame, low-profile sights, and a tasteful sliding profile for easy portability and shooting. The grip has a fine textured tip that provides a secure grip, and the frame has some attention to detail, a ridge to prevent accidental activation of the slide stop and a small swivel for the index finger of your support hand. the frame
Taurus Pt111 G2 Vs Glock G43x Size Comparison
If I have to be picky, an aesthetic feature I don't like about the rifle is the way the serial number is engraved on the barrel and slide - it almost looks punched. It looks out of place on this gun.
In a field of about 20 handguns, the Taurus G3X really stood out when we started shooting. We found it to be accurate, reliable and easy to shoot - compared to some more expensive pistols.
We put about 350 rounds of different ammo through the Taurus G3X and it shot everything reliably. We also used 115-grain loads from Federal Premium and USA Cartridges, Black Hornady 124-grain XTP Defense loads, Winchester 147-grain FMJ and 147-grain Nosler ASP Defense loads – all without a hiccup. We drove the G3X hard, periodically giving it some CLP in the barrel for slide rails and lubrication.
The grip and shape of the frame make the pistol easy to shoot and hang. From a performance standpoint, the Taurus G3X punches above its weight class. Recoil is smooth for a compact 9mm, and the pistol is easy to control when firing quickly and transitioning between targets. After two days of keeping the gun warm, we were very satisfied. It ran well and everything was still tight at the end of the process.

The Taurus G3X is similar in some ways to the Glock G19, but has a barrel that is about an inch shorter. Bill Buckley
The Taurus G3X does exactly what a compact, polymer-framed 9mm pistol should do. It shoots, and it shoots reliably at a great price. We weren't sure we'd see a performance gap due to the price, and we're glad we didn't.
We had no complaints about the performance, but having a fake serial number engraved on the slide and barrel made the pistol look clean, and the optics cut was icing on the cake.
Sometimes cheap means cheap, and a lower price means you sacrifice quality. This was not the impression we got from the Taurus G3X. The example we got is a more expensive pistol in its own right. In some ways the shooting was slightly better than its competitors. You usually get what you pay for, but with the Taurus G3X you get a little more.

Budget gunmaker Taurus' latest 9mm pistol installment, the G3c, brings an affordable 12+1 capacity subcompact.
Introduced last month, the G3c (c = compact) is a scaled-down version of the striker-fired Taurus G3, using a 3.2-inch barrel for an overall length of 6.3 inches. That's an inch shorter than the company's popular third-generation polymer frame arm, which follows the G2 and PT111 Millennium Pro.
The G3c weighs 22 ounces, unloaded, and we found the rifle to hit 27.1 ounces with 13 rounds of 147-grain Federal Hydra-Shock JHP. Standard magazine insert height is 5.1 inches.

When pitted against the most common carry pistol in the country, the Glock 19 15+1, the Taurus G3c is about an inch shorter and 4 ounces lighter. While it should be noted that the Glock 26 is close in size to Brazil's new budget competitor, it's worth noting that the aforementioned "baby Glock" runs a small 10-round mag as standard. The 3Gc is very similar in shape to the new FN 503 or the old Walther PPK and Star BM, although it should be noted that all three are a stack.
The Taurus G3c has been compared to the classic Walther PPK/s, the Glock 19, the new FN 503, and the $250 surplus BM Star 9mm.
The elephant in the room, however, is how the G3c stacks up against the new generation of compact 9mm pistols. On paper, the Springfield Armory Hellcat is slightly smaller at 18.3 ounces unloaded and 6 inches overall, while bringing the 11+1 flash fit mag along for the ride. The 17.8-ounce 10+1 Sig Sauer P365 is even shorter, with an overall length of 5.8 inches. In short, the new Taurus is pretty close to that size envelope, but—and it's a big but—it has an MSRP of $305 (closer to the $250 range at retailers), while both the P365 and Hellcat can command at least A couple more
